Giant Loop Mototrekk Panniers

Giant Loop developed the new MotoTrekk Panniers in collaboration with the Australian Giant Loop importer, Steve Smith of Adventure Moto AU (WAIT...THATS US!), with the goal of designing a rugged, stable, universally fitting, affordable, waterproof, rack-mounted motorcycle soft luggage solution for virtually all motorcycle makes and models. Mission accomplished  and even crash tested in Australia!

Sold in pairs, RF-welded roll-top MotoTrekk™ Panniers measure 21 litres each side, with three full rolls of the top to create a 100% waterproof seal. In dry conditions with only one or two rolls need to close the top, several more litres of gear will fit. Giant Loop’s MotoTrekk Panniers feature an innovative integrated mounting system that enables them to simply strap onto almost any motorcycle side luggage racks, including dual sport, adventure touring, naked, standard, sport touring, scrambler and V-twin motorcycles.

Giant Loop’s new MotoTrekk™ Panniers (available in June) include shoulder straps that clip into D-rings on the bottom and back of the Panniers, so they can be carried like a backpack when off the bike for a day of site-seeing or for a hands-free carry to your hotel or campsite. Other rider-friendly features include lash loops to secure Giant Loop’s waterproof roll-top Possibles Pouches to the front and back of the Panniers, a quick-connect magnetic buckle and anchor strap to secure that Panniers to luggage racks for easy mounting even when packed.

Saddlebag Dry Pods add waterproof organization inside Panniers.
Hot Springs GRANDE Heat Shield adds protection to prevent Panniers from touching exhaust.

So I figured out that I had a bit of a boy look and after contacting the folks at adventure moto it turned out the spare bolts and tube were easily mounted be removing the pillion seat and removing two bolts. Now that I've owned the rack for a while and ride with a pillion I give these racks and bags 10 /10. For the price I'm happy and mounting rotopax to them is very easy. I was one of the first to buy so considering how little to no motorbike mechanical experience. These racks are easy to install. If you enjoy tinkering give it a go.

Very impressed with the design. And the look of this rack. I previously owned a Dr650 and had a Barrett rack Installed, but this AT was a lot easier. I wish it came with Instructions and photos as I have a bar and some bolts leftover and I have no idea how or where it goes so I can only assume it's the 2017 model. Overall I would buy again. I haven't tested it on the road and haven't yet installed my Rotopax but I can see it won't be hard and everything bolts on nicely. Pros: easy install, looks great, tough and sturdy. And lightweight considering. Cons: no instructions or photos, leftover bolts and a crossbar that I have no idea where it goes.
