When venturing off the beaten path on your Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin, it’s important to keep your bike’s vitals protected from stray branches, flying rocks or anything else. That includes the voltage regulator, an integral component responsible for maintaining battery charge and keeping your bike’s electrical system up and running.
AltRider’s Voltage Regulator Guard for the Honda Africa Twin is an upgrade from the stock guard that leaves the voltage regulator completely exposed to debris from the rear tire and chain. AltRider’s Guard offers comprehensive protection in the form of a sturdy ⅛ in (3.2mm) thick piece of laser cut aluminum. The Voltage Regulator Guard easily mounts to OEM mounting points with included stainless steel hardware and is available in black or silver anodised finish.

It's extra protectionBy: Adam Kelly on 21 January 2018I was a bit hesitant purchasing this, mainly because of price etc etc. However if you look at where this voltage regulator is you soon realise it's another part on the bike that is open to the elements. After riding the gibb River Rd a few times you need to remember big and little rocks get thrown in unusual directions and the voltage regulator only has a plastic cover which to be honest we never really look at. The guard looks good, even though that doesn't matter, it's strong and has plenty of vents. Easy to install and will protect the regulator.
