Girls Own Adventure Ride

Adventure Moto Financial Manager Hazel had yet to consider riding a motorcycle before joining Australia's leading adventure-riding accessory retailer. It only took one weekend as a spectator on one of RideADV's 2-Day Women's Rides to change her life.

When I started working at Adventure Moto, I didn't ride. I had never ridden and wasn't sure I even wanted to. However, attending one of RideADV's women's rides as a support car passenger was a game-changer. I met an incredible group of women, and the weekend was a blast, even from the passenger seat of a car! Inspired by the experience, I set my mind to learning how to ride to avoid missing out on the fun.

I was still a learner when I went on my first RideADV women's ride as an actual rider. My anxiety was through the roof, but Greg and the crew were welcoming, patient, and supportive. This was precisely what I needed to grow and improve as a motorcyclist. The women-only rides cater to all levels of female motorcyclists, providing a safe and supportive environment to grow and improve. I have since been on 5 or 6 more RideADV rides (with only one not being a womens only), and my ability has improved with each ADVRide.

I have been riding a motorbike for just under three years now, and dirt is where I feel most at home. I continue to join Greg & the crew on the women-only motorbike rides because I walk away from every weekend having learnt something new. I learn from the crew, and I learn from the other women. I have also made lifelong friends I travel with on adventure rides.

One of the best things about RideADV women's rides is I can just show up; I don't need to plan (apart from booking & getting there), I don't need to know where I am going (on the actual ride), I don't need to bring tools (if I don't want to or don't have them). From the moment I turn up at the start point, the guys have it all sorted: the routes, the stops. They fix my bike if I break something, they fix me if I break something, and I can ask dumb questions and am never judged. I always feel looked after; I know a support crew member is never far away.

And here's another awesome perk of riding with RideADV – I don't need to lug all my stuff. I have yet to nail motorbike packing (I'm still learning and not a light packer)! All our luggage goes in the support car and miraculously turns up at the end of the day; it's just another thing I don't have to worry about.

I am so excited to join Greg and the crew next month on their first women's motorbike ride for 2024. Starting in Karuah, NSW, and heading to Gloucester for the night before returning to Karuah the next day. The Barrington Tops area promises stunning adventure riding, and meeting everyone the night before will be a great way to get to know one another better before heading off the next day.

Calling all adventurous women! If you've eyed these women-only adventure rides but hesitated, it's time to bite the bullet, take the bull by the horns and your bike by the handlebars. Jump on board; you won't regret it. Say goodbye to chores, embrace an exhilarating weekend of adventure riding, and forge fantastic friendships with other women motorcyclists.
