About Camel Tank
Camel Tank was invented by adventure rider Cory Hanson to correct a shortcoming of his well-travelled BMW F800GS: the small gas tank. Though the were other fuel options available, the was no auxiliary fuel tank that suited a adventure rider's needs quite right.
Our tank is specifically designed to fit BMW F-Series parallel twin adventure bikes, including the F650GS, F700GS and F800GS models. Born from the need for function, Camel Tank is the first product of many innovative adventure riding accessories to come from Camel ADV Products Ltd.
Functional Tank Design
CamelTank is designed to work with common panniers and racks without interfering with a top box or duffel bag. Camel Tank can hold 7 Liters of fuel and is designed without the need for a fuel pump or transfer. It is a rugged, attractive addition to your bike without seeming out of place.
Anyone Can Install This Auxiliary Petrol Tank
With basic hand tools, the average motorcycle owner can install Camel Tank in a couple of hours. When you buy your tank, we provide detailed instructions with images of each step to guide your installation process.
Larger Gas Tanks Means You Can Explore More!
Camel Tank increases your BMW adventure bike range by over 40%. This cleanly designed auxiliary tank adds 7.1L to your bike fuel capacity, giving you a total of 23.1L (over 6 gallons). Where will you go when the only limits you have are the ones you impose on yourself?
How it Works
The Camel Tank is filled separately from the main tank but is attached via the factory vent hose. As the fuel pump in the main tank drawn gasoline out vacuum is created. This vacuum normally pulls air in to the fuel tank. With the vent hose connected to Camel Tank, the vacuum draws fuel instead.
Version 2.0 of Camel Tank has just been released for pre-buy, so Camel Tank works with more brands of panniers than before! Mounting on the back right side opposite of the exhaust, the Camel Tank occupies space that is often unused. It doesn’t affect your ability to use a top box or duffle bag,
How is the V2 tank different from the A?
We are happy to announce our V2 Camel Tank for the BMW F650/700/800 GS (except GSA). The V2 tank has all the same great features of the A tank but works with other popular pannier systems.
The V2 is made to work with SW Motech, Hepco Becker*, Wolfman and several other pannier systems that use the threaded inserts in the subframe (compatibility list will be updated as more information is available). Like the original Camel Tank, the V2 can be used without a pannier system.
* Hepco Becker - Camel Tank is compatible. Be aware of tight clearances at pannier latch. ** Mas Tech - Camel Tank is compatible. Be aware of tight clearances at rear cross brace. *** Wolfman - the add-on cross brace cannot be used with Camel Tank.
Camel ADV design and manufacture unique and quality products for a growing range of adventure bikes. From auxiliary fuel tanks to protection products they design accessories that will ensure you survive the ride.
