Tank Removal Instructions
Drain all fuel from OEM fuel tank into a government approved fuel container with a greater capacity than fuel tank on vehicle.
Remove seat & side covers. Disconnect vacuum line at back of fuel valve. Disconnect vent line from underside of fuel tank. Now remove tank.
Fuel Tank Installation Instructions
Remove plastic front tank cover. Remove remaining vacuum hose from carburetor and install vinyl cap onto carburetor fitting. Install the fuel valve w/O-ring supplied in mount kit onto the IMS fuel tank with (2) 6x16mm screws. Tighten snugly, but DO NOT over tighten.
Fasten the IMS tank seat bracket to the IMS tank using the (2) 6 x 12mm screws supplied.
Fit the Barbed Hose Connector into the Vent Hose Extension then into vent hose that was disconnected from OEM tank. Route hose up to frame backbone then forward to steering triple clamp. Attach to IMS Gas Cap
Place the IMS tank onto the rubber frame mount grommets like the stock tank. Insert each of the 6 x 40mm screws through a washer & push through flat side of grommet first (see illustration). Insert the entire assembly through the rear tank mount of the IMS tank & into the OEM tank mounts on the frame. Tighten these firmly.
Attach the fuel line, vent hose, seat, & side covers. Fill new IMS fuel tank check for leaks before operating the bike & enjoy the longer ride!

Go further!By: michael piestrzynski on 15 January 2018Great capacity for most people. Do you really need a 35L safari. With 15L in it the weight is carried nice and low. Very comfy for riders who stand a lot.
